Are You Buying Games From Overseas? Comments

I used to buy games overseas but now I don't care how much it costs, or where it comes from I just want the game now!

Usually that means buying from a local store.
lol @ Kenni sells me stuff from the back of a truck

Very cheap. [MOG]
Yeah Silence, I buy all my PC games via STEAM also but this is in relation to physical copies.
What is this "physical copy" you speak of? [Shifty]

The last game I bought was MadWorld for Wii =/
I buy most of them from steam and play asia only buy games i want straight away from local stores.

i buy stuff overseas.. unless its a game i want on release day like infamous 2.. ill be getting that from EB and price matching the $79 dicksmith catalogue.. i might be not poor but im not stupid :P
PC - Steam (only on sale) new releases I'll wait for- if they are Steam Play then I import them for like $40 or something.

Wii, DS, 3DS etc. - Local Online sites like Game.com.au and DVDcrave (yes I know they are games plus and all that now). As well as UK sites like The Hut, mymemory and ozgamestore.

Xbox, Ps3 etc. - If I had one it would be a simular situation to the Nintendo stuff.

I do every now and then. PA has some pretty epic bargains sometimes.

I buy from overseas if it's really cheap or if I can;t get it any other way (MKlol)
I get my games from anywhere that's cheap.
I've brought from play-asia, ozgameshop, dvd.co.uk
places like that. Prices here are just too expensive.
And prices on games that are like 2-3+ yrs old is ridiculous
Play-Asia!! [Rage] [Rage] [Rage]

+1
50/50 retail and online.
'Merica. Kenni's truck was hijacked last week; your orders will take another 2 weeks to ship again. =)

Man you guys sure have good taste in games! I knew I hijacked the right truck!
i dont care where i get my games from buuut i might have to if its cheaper

This needs to be an option [Shifty]

You could take every console game I've ever bought, times it by 10 and it would still come to less games than I have on my Steam account. To say I buy them anywhere else would be ridiculous. I'd be lucky if I got one hard copy a year and they are ONLY console games.
I buy in store if I can't be bothered trawling eBay, or if it is an impulse buy. I only use eBay if the game hasn't gone down in price in a while.
I tend to buy games from Play-Asia.
I'll be buying even more from there once I get a PS3. =P
the only thing i use ebay for is games that are hard to find such as classics

dont think ive ever bought anything off ebay for a new game

I think you could multiply the number of console games you've bought by 100 and still have less than on your steam account. I know I do [Derp]
I only buy PS3 games overseas, wii and ds/3ds here since i want the club points :P
Mostly local, I cbf waiting for new release games.
id rather save the 40 bucks on a new game and get it a week later from overseas. games are so overpriced, especially with the au $ so strong
I don't care how much it costs - just give me my damn game.

I'm to impatient to wait a week or so for a new release game even if i do save afew $$
If i see a new release game i want i'll buy it straight out and straight away! [MOG]
I haven't bought any games for a while. :(
I'll still be getting them in store though because I'm too lazy to check the mailbox during office hours and I'd have to wait an extra day to collect one from inside.
Same I haven't bought any games for a while but when I do, I buy from overseas..Mostly because I don't mind waiting 1week to 2 weeks to play it and I save a bunch!
I'd love to support local stores but with the amount of money I save I can prob. buy another brand new game online!
@Skateh - This poll is only for physical copies of games. Anyone with a sane head will only purchase digital copies where available, and it doesn't have as much of an impact on retailers as purchasing from overseas because it isn't mainstream yet.
i think i will start getting them from overseas its a shame Australia doesnt look after us like they should...
Kenni must be running a very successful business, has as many customers as all the retailers in Australia combined. No wonder their prices are so high.
Kenni be Mah DEALER !

I want MK9 :'@
Steam for PC games.
Zavvi or ozgameshop for everything else :P

I never have much time to play these days anyways so I really don't care about getting games on release.

lol
I get them from the UK. UK is so cheap and DLCs usually compatible.
I buy my stuff from whereever its cheapest :-)
Bit of both
last game i brought in a retail shop was GT5 cause i wanted it then and there and wasnt going to save that much by importing + deleivery time was the main reason ..but 99% of games i buy i import from Hong Kong ...i used to use ozgameshop but 25 days delivery was too much to bare.
YOu need an option where it says, I buy online wherever I can find it cheapest
EB ( ltd. ed preorders) Dick Smith(Great release date prices) Ebay(Great old games for great prices), MMGN(its MMGN what do you expect?:P) and BIG W (if theres a game for >10$ ( I got boom bloxx for 2$ and Fifa 09 for 50 CENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) :O:O:O its just so amazing) oh and EB cos they price match and if theres a really good deal, chances are its sold out & trade bad games
this is how every gamer should do it [MOG]
