Why a new channel? Vita is the PSP successor the same way the 3DS is the DS successor. Don't see any point in keeping the PSP channel :S

yeah i vote for a merge. psp will be redundant and no one will use it. they hardly even sell the console in australia anymore whereas dsi is still sold

with that logic why isnt there a gamecube, xbox original and ps2 channel?

I think it's safe to say that the Vita will have a new layout. Also, a lot of the stuff on the PSP channel wouldn't be necessary (or is just too old) on the Vita (IMO).

It's because Vita isn't straight off the bat backwards compatible to PSP games, whereas 3DS is FULLY backwards compatible with DS/DSi games.

If you is making a whole seperate channel just for the Vita then you should also make a seperate channel Mobile.mmgn + Tablet.mmgn, Then also seperate the Movies from TV.mmgn..... -_-

Making a channel for the Vita separate from the PSP one is an interesting decision considering the 'Vita' button on the MMGN home page has linked to PSP.MMGN for quite some time. I take it this plan wasn't made all that long ago.

While I still fail to see the necessity in creating a whole new channel, it's good to see the handheld actually getting its own channel either way. Looking forward to see how it turns out.

Sorry guys, but I really don't see the point of having 2 separate channels. The PSP site is a very slow mover as it it, why make another handheld Sony channel? Wasn't it renamed NGP when the vita was still being called that? NDS was renamed to 3ds, and it was kept that way. I say either make a new Vita and delete the old PSP, or just turn PSP into Vita.

Just my 2 cents.

I also agree that 2 separate channels in silly. Although, not much discussion would happen with Vita.MMGN anyway. Barely much discussion goes on with it right now (although I'm sure it'll increase a little bit when it's launched)

However, I think you should keep the separate. It really is a legacy thing; after all, MyPSP started it all. :) It would be sad if it left, and I'm sure a lot of the more experienced people would feel that way.

We hope to do things a bit differently with the Vita Channel, you guys will see. Experiment a little see if it is better.

Currently MMGN has a lot of features that doesn't get used very often, and too much clutter, it all started with PSP so it is very hard for us to remove stuff since the existing content / community will be impacted, so we hope in the new channel things will be a bit better.

We have plans for a new Wii U channel also.
