Just saw the ad that S2 is starting on Showcase on 10th April. That's 9 days after it's premiere on HBO. Pretty good, as it's not delayed by several months or so. Counting down the days.....

The first episode just amazed me! However, I reckon reading the books will give you a lot of insight because the show cuts a lot of corners (naturally).

Like when Stannis was burning the New Gods you kind of didn't know his intentions behind it whereas the book tells you how it led up to that.

And there's kind of no connection to the Onion Knight so you really can't see how strong his bond is to Stannis other than the one guy saying "Only you can persuade him!"
