So in the next few weeks I will be losing quite a bit of money due to bills!

I will have roughly $3,500 after paying off all of those bills, is this a good amount for a 20 year old?

now its only like 32k after buying my xr6 and losing le job back in july :(

There's not really an answer.

Depends what your current expenses are and how much you've earnt so far.

Some of my 20 year old friends have 30K in the bank because they work all through school/uni holidays thus don't spend any and others have -$3 in the bank.

When i was 20 i had $60 000 from my job but most of it went to the tax man and charity. i now have about $115 000 but i do donate a lot of it to charities and paying off my house.

I only work part time due to study.

i did study but my job was very high paying. after i completed studying i went to a job that paid excellent money.

Everyone is different, so I wouldn't be stressing. If you're living comfortably then what does it matter anyway, money is stupid.

Yeah pretty much everyone who posts on the internet about their finances is exaggerating their worth or completely making it up. Likewise, even the truthful people will be skewed. People who did well and are well off will post. Those lesser off or even just living normally won't, and they make up the majority.

So the moral is, don't take financial advice from any forum.

i finished last year and i completed a one year design course straight after i finished. plus i did repeat a few years in primary.

and theres a difference between "good" debt and bad debt... good debt can be when you have more assets then debt even if its a big debt.. but you don't need to worry about that :P

depends on what you work as. as long as you have enough money to get around you will be fine.

Also HECs debt (or whatever it's called now) isn't really that bad. You only have to pay it back when you earn a certain amount and it just gets taken with tax.

Plus if you die, nobody has to pay it back, unlike other types of debt. So if it gets too big you can always fake your own death :P
