Re-Imaginings of Classic Games

All to often we hear people saying that they'd love to see a remake or re-imagining of this or that and when it comes to long-running games series - Final Fantasy and the Legend of Zelda being the most perfect examples - we also often hear people complaining that the stories are confusing (The Legend of Zelda's split time-line, anyone?) or just getting old (such as Final Fantasy's "same s#&t, different game" thing that people are often complaining about)...

Now I'm no asking about these two series specifically, but what "classic" games would you like to see remade or re-imagined?

Would you stick to the "classic" game religiously (only with updated graphics and sound), or would you update the mechanics of the game for modern gaming?

I just follow the Zelda game and not the timeline which is too confusing.

those original sonic games could have their graphics updated. pokemon Stadium would be another great one to be fixed up a bit

Wasn't that on Gamecube?

i think it was. but apparently it's got some different stuff in it. plus it is almost impossible to get a cheap copy of it.

Yeah, a Metal Gear Solid remake would be great, but they'd have to stay true to the original though... With the exception of Metal Gear, I haven't played any others besides Metal Gear Solid, but 'Solid was pretty nicely done.
