Toonami is coming back!

Thanks to Social Media, Cartoon Network's Toonami is due to return on the 26th of May during the Adult Swim block on Saturdays. Whilst the new schedule has not been announced, Cartoon Network has confirmed that both Bleach and Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood will remain on the Adult Swim lineup.

The resurrection of the Anime segment came into effect when Adult Swim changed it's usual broadcast of The Room (for April Fools) to T.O.M (the Toonami host) as he announced that it was April Fools before introducing the scheduled Anime for that week along with a quick review of Mass Effect 3 at the end.

The sudden return of the beloved anime block garnered positive reception, and the following day Adult Swim (via their twitter account) posted "Want it back? Let us know. #BringBackToonami". From there, the #BringBackToonami hashtag went wild and started trending immediately which eventually led to more posts stating that they (Adult Swim) were listening.

On the 16th of May, Adult Swim announced on their Facebook page that Toonami would return to screen's on the 26th of May with a press release later that day confirming that Toonami would serve as a Saturday late night anime block.

We've contacted Cartoon Network Australia to see if any plans for the Australian counterpart of Toonami was due to return following this news.

Whoa man, blast from the past! I remember the old Toonami show format back in the day as a kid. It would be around six years now since it was originally cancelled in Australia or at least cut back heaps (I remember I was like what the when I realised it was no longer on as much), so this is awesome news for the long-time fans.
Same here! I remember it was my most favourite segment and it was pretty much the only reason I watched Cartoon Network after they cut out old favourites like Ed, Edd and Eddy and Cow and Chicken!

Was pretty distraught coming home and seeing it gone :'(
Ed, Edd and Eddy and Cow and Chicken were boss [MOG]
WOOO, NOW HE CAN SAY ASS, HELL, AND DAMN!

Glad to him back, the kiddies can experience some of the golden years we've had.
We didn't get Toonami till like 2001, but a lot of their shows were already on Cartoon Network [MOG].

Yeah I only watched Cartoon Network for Toonami, Adult Swim, Ed, Edd and Eddy and Cow and Chicken. I can't believe they've gotten rid of all the classics that made them succeed. They don't make cartoons like they used to.
Got a typical reply :(

I havent seen this happen but i recommend everyone does it just incase

Jesse (evil)
I doubt we'll get Toonami, the network's boss is very against anything not kid oriented. They've moved Adult Swim to Comedy, and what's even more frustrating is their recent censorship on recent programming -

uaoacccensorship.wikia.com/...

So if Toonami was ever to return, it would most likely be put on SciFi or a sister network of Turner Broadcasting.

Edit: Apparently Aus/NZ Cartoon network rebroadcasts to the Philippines, so Filipino broadcasting standards may be the reason for all this :\ (unless that's just an excuse made by the network?)
A new boss is incharge from what i hear
but i have heard some uncanny censorship going on even worst then before unfortunatly
I would love to suggest it to SciFi or somewhere but i just don't know how.
the aus CN works in most of asia from memory which could be but alot of anime is acceptable in most places so it would be strange but then again i know censorship of certain things in asian countries can be quite heavy.
If you'd like to help support www.facebook.com/... please like this and if you know how to contact some sister networks as such i would love to hear about it :)
