Thanks to Social Media, Cartoon Network's Toonami is due to return on the 26th of May during the Adult Swim block on Saturdays.
Whilst the new schedule has not been announced, Cartoon Network has confirmed that both Bleach and Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood will remain on the Adult Swim lineup.
The resurrection of the Anime segment came into effect when Adult Swim changed it's usual broadcast of The Room (for April Fools) to T.O.M (the Toonami host) as he announced that it was April Fools before introducing the scheduled Anime for that week along with a quick review of Mass Effect 3 at the end.
The sudden return of the beloved anime block garnered positive reception, and the following day Adult Swim (via their twitter account) posted "Want it back? Let us know. #BringBackToonami". From there, the #BringBackToonami hashtag went wild and started trending immediately which eventually led to more posts stating that they (Adult Swim) were listening.
On the 16th of May, Adult Swim announced on their
Facebook page that Toonami would return to screen's on the 26th of May with a press release later that day confirming that Toonami would serve as a Saturday late night anime block.
We've contacted Cartoon Network Australia to see if any plans for the Australian counterpart of Toonami was due to return following this news.
